LiteratureBorn in Liverpool the son of Patrick, an actor, the family came from Ireland and settled in England. Edmund became a successful painter and illustrator of theatre subjects, theatrical posters and comic postcards. In the 1901 census he is described as an artist book illustrator. He illustrated many books, some by George Robey who was known as the Prime Minister of Mirth. Towards the end of his life he lived in Shoreham, Sussex. He is very well known among postcard collectors however his oil paintings are rarely seen on the market and those of dancing girls command high prices. He signed E.P. or sometimes E. Kinsella.
