Excellent work written by John Boram for the Regional Furniture History Society in 2010'makers of Dy'd, Fancy and Japan'd Chairs'. The article attributes several similar rush seated chairs to Gillows.

A rare set of six armchairs in their original paint with only minor retouching. (The third picture shows chairs before restoration)
All chairs have been recently rerushed.
The attribution to Gillows based illustration of a very similar chair on page 1290 of the 'estimate sketch book' dated November 12th 1796 and inscribed, 'Rev. Mr Pedden and other similar pubications.
