Description / Expertise
ATTRIBITED TO GILLOWS
A fine quality George III period mahogany bow fronted Sideboard of small proportions, with a central cutlery drawer above an arched recess flanked by two deep drawers and standing on turned and tapering, reeded legs with run through the carcass to the top. Handles replaced.
The construction and style of this sideboard is very much in keeping with many pieces of the period, known to have been supplied by Gillows to some of the most important houses up and down the country. A large number of these pieces are not stamped and it seems highly likely this is one such piece.
