Description / Expertise
A George III Sheraton period mahogany sofa table of good long shallow proportions: lyre ends, rosewood banding and boxwood stringing: by Trotter of Edinburgh.
This attribution is based on a similar table which was provided for Paxton House, Berwickshire. Paxton House was extended in the Regency period and still retains its splendid collection of furniture by the Edinburgh cabinet maker William Trotter.
