Very good condition with some wear to the interior silk.

Description / Expertise

William IV Rosewood Sewing Table Cabinet inlaid with foliate brass to the top & front with further brass stringing and circular stars. It has moulding around the top, base and framing the doors, superb rosewood turned and carved side handles and feet.

The interior of the work box opens to reveal four drawers each inlaid with brass replicating the top & front, with the doors having a superb detailed gold tooled red leather either side. The top drawer is fixed and is a dummy drawer it contains the divided tray with eight mother of pearl reels (not all matching) one needle sharpener and six mother of pearl sewing accoutrements all housed in this light blue silk tray with darker blue paper lining. The top has a silk letter or pattern compartment to its lid has silk roped thread with white metal patterned studs. The other two drawers are vacant with the bottom having a removable writing slope with a burgandy tooled writing surface..

This wonderfully made sewing table cabinet comes with a fully working lock & tasselled key.
