An 18th century Chippendale mahogany document box.
The box has a hinged lid interior compartment, a caddy edge and very good brass carrying handles that have gone a bronze colour with age. The underside of the lid is fitted to hold letters and in the bottom of the box is a hinged lid that lifts to another storage area.
The box is a good original colour and has been sympathetically restored and wax finished. (Circa 1780)
