Description / ExpertiseA fine George III Chippendale period Cuban mahogany urn stand. The square top with excellent figuring bordered by an upstanding scalloped gallery, with cock beaded circumference. The frieze with retractable drawer to the front with a small brass axe head handle and with scalloped edge all around. The stand is supported by, chamfered legs with outer edge beading along the full length, integrated carved ears at the hips and joined by an elegant X - form, fretwork stretcher. A delightful piece of classical Chippendale design, the stand retains excellent colour and patina.
