12" engraved and silvered brass dial with centre date and strike/silent facility.
Nicely proportioned case with a well figured flame veneer on the the door and base.
Thomas Ollive's family came from Lewes, which was where he was almost certainly born. It's in Lewes that his family met Thomas Paine the radical who first lodged and later married Thomas's sister Elizabeth.
