Excellent condition with a very good patina. The latter half of the maker's mark is very clear on the base of the back of the stem but the cinquefoil in the bowl is lightly struck and only partially visible

Highly collectable Elizabeth I silver West Country seal top spoon of extremely good form and patina. Signs of gilding are still visible on the seal, which is joined to the stem by a lap join. The top of the seal has the date 1652 pinpricked in the centre with the initials M P pinpricked above and M D beneath the date.
