Both parts of the box have crisp hallmarks and maker’s marks for WC- William Comyns on them.

1.25inch wide    3.50inch high    (3.17 cm wide  8.89 cm high)

The box is in mint condition.

This is a beautiful sterling silver box by acclaimed silversmith William Comyns. The box has smooth sides but the lid has an embossed scene of a woman on a swing and two men in a garden, surrounded by a scrolling border. The lid slots over the base and both have a gilt interior.
