A fine small spring driven ebony-veneered bracket clock by Jacobus Goubert, London. The verge movement runs for 8 days and has a pear shaped pendulum bob. The backplate is beautifully engraved with floral and foliate scrolls.
Date: circa 1695-1700
Height: 11 ¾ in excluding handle (30 cm)
Width: 9 ½ in (24 cm)
Depth: 6 in (15 cm)
*James Goubert was a French maker who worked in London, and was made a free brother of the Clockmakers Company in September 1690.
