Description / Expertise

An early 20th century ladies leather dressing case.

The case has brass locking catches and is signed by the makers "Drew & Sons Piccadilly Circus" on the inside edge. The interior is fitted out with tan coloured water marked silk style material and holds five glass jars and bottles, four brushes and combs, a jewel box, shoe horn, glove stretcher, a manicure set and mirror.

The jars and bottles have silver and ivory tops with hallmarks for London 1920 and the maker "George Carsberg & Son", while the brushes, combs, shoe horn and glove stretcher are also ivory. The small jewel box, manicure set and dressing mirror are covered in black leather to match the case.

The case is in very good condition, one glass jar has a small chip in the base. (Circa 1920)
