Christopher Ganer square piano in mahogany case c1780
with 1 pedal swell and 3 hand stops, 2 for the damper lift and 1 for the harp stop.
5 octave compass F to F

Christopher Ganer was born in 1750 in Leipzig and died in London in 1811
In 1774 his workshop was at 48 Broad Street, London but by 1807 he was listed at 47-48 Broad Street.

Christopher Ganer and George Garcka were both members of the legenday group known as the "Twelve Apostles", piano makers, many were German born and some were Dutch they were said to have fled to England during the seven year war. They established successful manufactories and produced forward looking designed and technologies which ultimaltely was incorporated into Broadwoods success.
