Excellent original condition and mellow colour

A fine and rare mid eighteenth century red walnut semi-circular Tea Table with folding top supported on a gate-action forth leg forming a circle. beneath the second top is a storage well within the plain moulded edge frieze and standing on beautifully shaped cabriole legs with 'slipper feet'. Red wallnut is often also refered to as Virginia or American walnut and resembles mahogany but with more mellow colour and slightly more open figured grian.
