Very good indeed with just two tiny nicks on the side which are scarcely visible. The hallmarks are crisp and clear. The patina is excellent

Attractive George III sterling silver Scottish wine goblet of good weight.
The vase shaped body is mainly plain and stands on a circular foot with applied reeded rim and graceful, curved, stem. The top of the bowl has a band of beautifully engraved bright-cut decoration of stylised bunches of grapes and vine leaves on a matted ground. This is bordered above and below by a double band of wriggle pattern bright-cut engraving which is touching a single band of bright-cut dot engraving. The foot is engraved with a foliate band of bright-cut decoration as well as single bands of dot engraving and a more densely decorated wriggle pattern band. The full set of hallmarks are stamped underneath the foot and are crisp and clear.
Single goblets are highly collectible and make a charming mix when used for drinking when a group of people are together. The bright-cut decoration on this goblet adds a great deal to its value. This goblet would also be very useful filled with bon-bons and would make a very attractive vase, providing the water was changed often.
