Georgian Kingwood Sofa Table of very rare Small Proportions (c. 1785 England)

As well as being of this rare size, this stunning fine quality table has the early simple elegance of the twin end supports and the high set stretcher bar that makes it so appealing. The rounded rectangular top veneered in narrow bands of kingwood, with crossbanding of satinwood and with box wood line stringing, over two drawers and two dummy drawer, again with simple line stringing to the panels. High swept end supports on block and turned feet, with brass toe caps and castors. A superior piece in magnificant condition. George III circa 1785.
