Georgian Mahogany Antique Bureau with Cross Banding.
This beautiful Georgian mahogany antique bureau, dating from around 1800, is finished with stunning cross banding and satinwood, boxwood ebony string inlay. It has a moulded fall front, the interior of which has a green baize writing insert. Once open the upper section displays several golden birch drawers with brass handles and a number of pigeon holes.
The lower section of the antique bureau has two over four graduating oak lined cock beaded drawers with replacement swan neck handles and diamond key escutcheons. It stands on shaped bracket feet and is a warm golden mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
