Large Flamed Mahogany Antique Victorian Library Bookcase.
This splendid large flamed mahogany antique Victorian library bookcase, circa 1850, has a break fronted moulded cornice above four glazed doors with beautifully carved corbels and striking flamed mahogany figuring. The central interior has two adjustable shelves while the two outer sections each have one adjustable shelf.
The lower section of the antique library bookcase has a break fronted moulded top above four strikingly figured cupboard doors and moulded edges, each interior has one fixed shelf. The piece stands on a break fronted plinth and has some old veneer repairs that, due to their age, are not noticeable. The library bookcase splits down into five sections making this grand piece a more manageable size to move. It is a rich, medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
