Large Victorian Mahogany Antique Double Dickens Partners Desk.
This unique large Victorian mahogany double Dickens Partners desk, circa 1860, is very unusual and not often seen available for sale. Each side is a mirror image of the other therefore having the same configuration as follows:
Three tooled leather writing inserts and a lift up writing slope which conceals two small satin birch drawers with four pigeon holes and storage space. The lower section of the antique Dickens desk has a central faux drawer above the knee hole and each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with turned handles. The desk stands on a moulded plinth and has old repairs consistent with age and use which add to the authenticity and character of the piece. The desk splits into three sections which aids transportation. It is a rich, medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
