Description / Expertise

A late 19th century smokers compendium in the form of a London to Brighton mail coach.
Cast in bronze and finely painted showing destinations and adverts for "White Horse Cellars Piccadilly" and "The Ship Hotel Brighton".
The seats above the carriage open to reveal a space for cheroots and is engraved "Thornhill & Co. 144 New Bond Street." The two carriage lamps to the sides function as cigar cutters and the lamp at the front is a cigar lighter; the fuel being contained in a space below. The luggage space at the back, sign written "London and Brighton" opens to reveal a matchsafe and striker.
