Compare a marble six-lobed tripod dish unearthed in 1955 in Hanshenzhai, Xian and now in the Shaanxi Historical Museum, illustrated in Li Jian, The Glory of the Silk Road; No.110 p.202 , Dayton Art Institute, 2003

The rare tray with an angled and lobed rim, presumably based on a metalwork design.
The tray is extremely rare in its material, since only a few marble vessels have been found sofar in Tang Dynasty tombs.
