high 61cm, 24", long 63 cm, 24 3/4"

The horse well modelled, pierced behind the open mouth for the attachment of a halter. painted in red , white and pale green with decorative elements, all reserved against the brick-red pigment used all over the body. The docked tail separately potted.

The horse is of early Western Han type like those unearthed at Yangjiawan, near Xianyang ,Shaanxi province
