Literature
The mount is type B, used from Oct 1879 until 1888 (page 57) and the back label is the Twenty Title version (page 82) as detailed in G. Godden's book "Stevengraphs and other Victorian silk pictures", Barrie & Jenkins 1971.
The silk is STG #175 as listed in Austin Sprakes"s "Price Guide to Stevengraphs", 1972.
Fine original condition. The silk is excellent with very bright colours and retains the green grass of the pitch which fades very easily in strong daylight. The mount has a very slight mark above the top right hand corner of the picture but otherwise is in fine, undamaged condition. The back label is very fine and undamaged. It has a small "rust mark" or possibly foxing above the chimney in the etching of the Stevengraph factory.
