Description / Expertise
Pierre de Clausade was born in Paris on 15th April 1910 but did not start painting seriously until 1941.
He held his first exhibition in Paris in 1943 and as result of its success a series of further shows were held in the following years. He exhibited regularly at the Société des Beaux Arts and became a member of the Salon d’Hiver.
He also exhibited abroad including locations as far afield as Rio de Janiero, Boston, New York and Jordan. His work of this period is in many distinguished collections including that of the Brazilian Ambassador and the Boston and Minneapolis Museums of Fine Art.
Later in his life he was awarded the Prix de Poesy and in 1953 the Paris Salon awarded him the renowned Silver Medal. He died in 1976.
