ConditionVery good condition, except that the main set of hallmarks on the back of the head are very rubbed. The eyes are original and undamaged and the base retains its original lining underneath.
Description / ExpertiseUnusual novelty hallmarked silver string box constructed in the form of an Owl. This delightful piece was made in London in 1907 by William & George Neal. The ball of string (or thread) is placed inside the head, the thread is then pulled through the hole in the top and held in place by the weighted, push-fit silver base.
