Literature

ST. DEVENICK was built in Aberdeen 1864, a schooner of 257 tons, 114' 3" x 24' 8" x 14' 5". She was later sold into the Mediterranean.
Ships Built at the Geddie Shipyards on Speyside (Kingston and Garmouth) by the Geddie Shipyards, or owned by them, or Captained by Geddie family members. Many other ships were built at Speyside but these are those known to have been built or controlled by the Geddies."

Luigi Renault was a talented and very productive artist, later being appointed marine artist to King Victor Emanuel of Italy. He started early in his life to paint ships and was apparently trained by his father Michele Renault (fl. 1840-68), who was a ship portrait artist as well.
