Louis Aucoc was a leading Parisian art nouveau jeweller and goldsmith.
‘The Birth of Venus’ jewel shows the head of Venus surrounded by bladder wrack seaweed and backed by a diamond studded sea star. The marine theme symbolizes Venus’ birth, fully formed from the sea and the white diamond star represents Venus’ name sake... the morning star.
