Concealed within the original frame of this fine early Soldier's Valentine was the original hand written letter from Private John Paget of the Third Light Dragoons to his sister Mrs James Sharp of Birstall, Leicestershire, which had accompanied this work when it was originally sent to her. This well preserved document lends the work impeccable documentary provenance.
