ProvenanceClifford Lupton born 1825, a fine chronometer maker. Working at 31 Cornhill, London. Recorded making chronometers for Barraud & Lund and became a member of the British Horological Institute in 1868. His records are held at the Guildhall Museum.

Description / Expertise
A small Victorian walnut cased four glass "library" timepiece, the case with architectural top, bevelled side panels above ogee base and raised on block feet.
the 4" square engraved and silvered dial signed by themaker. with blued steel hands.
Single chain and fusee movement with Harrison's maintaining power, anchor escapement, pendulum holdfast and repeat signature to the backplate. Heavy brass bob pendulum with steel rod and engraved stirrup regulation.
