SHIBATA ZESHIN (1807-1891)
A woven basketwork Tonkotsu of oval section. It is lacquered in black ishime with a yusu (teapot) decorated with gold ho-o birds, the reverse with two yunomi (footed cups) in silver lacquer with gilt interiors and roundels. The simple cover of bamboo.
The base signed with the engraved signature, red inked: Zeshin.
