Literature:
Rudolph Akermann’s ‘Repository of the Arts’ published between 1809 and 1827 refers to this style as ‘Grecian’, and a very similar model is illustrated.
Description / Expertise
Constructed in Oak, and Pollard Oak the strong swept front legs with carved inset stylised cornucopia having lions paw feet of high quality, the front rail with a Grecian tablet motif, and roll over arms. Re upholstered with a squab cushion.
