ROBERT PANITZSCH - 1879-1949
Robert Panitzsch was born in Mecklenburg, Germany but took residency in Denmark after moving there to study. He produced work for the museum of Decorative Arts in Copenhagen and was allowed to copy the many examples of antique and renaissance furniture and furnishings, which he incorporated in his paintings. He became a master at painting sumptuous interior views, full of colour and light and he exhibited widely, including annually at the Berlin Art Exhibition. His work is much sought after and can be found in The Hanover Museum in Germany and The Queen Alexandrine Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark.
