Denys George Wells was still life and figure painter who was born in Bedford. He studied at the Slade School and in 1910 became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists. He exhibited his work from 1907 to 1940 at
The Alpine Club Gallery 1, Glasgow Institute of Fine Art 1, Leicester Gallery 2, London Salon 7, New English Art Club 9, Royal Academy 10, Royal Society of British Artists 173 and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters 6.
Wells is known to have lived in London in 1907, Marlow Buckinghamshire in 1912 and New Malden Surrey 1919.
