Description / Expertise
A mahogany pedestal partner's desk, the rectangular top with gilt tooled green hide within banding to moulded edge. Wide central drawers unite the two pedestals, to the front with four graduated mahogany lined drawers and turned handles, to the reverse a pair of panelled cupboard doors opening to documet slides, all standing upon plinth bases that conceal castors. The desk features a central locking system and bears a brass plate engraved: Safrans patent drawer fastening. The locks marked J Bramah and crown 124 Piccadilly, are a design dating from 1805-13.
