Description / Expertise
China Trade hardwood bureau. The well figured fall with bookrest opens to a stepped interior with pigeon holes and drawers, the linings of which are inscribed with Chinese characters. Below the fall, a single drawer with a pair of brass bale handles and shaped backplates. Stands upon low shaped bracket feet. Probably made in Canton for the export to the European or American market.
