Description / Expertise
In this small but very fine figure, the wide hipped (steatopygous) female is seated, her short lower legs drawn up against her thighs. The pinching of her tubular neck forms a small, stylized head, with raised headdress or coiffure, and her arms loop below her prominent conical breasts. Dashes of brown paint decorate the surface and depict her long hair and stylized eyes. Two parallel lines around her waist suggest a girdle or creases to the skin.
This item comes with a Thermoluminescence report from Oxford Authentication stating that the piece was last fired between 3000 and 5000 years ago.
