SOLD ---VERY RARE ..Decorated Rowing Blade ?Cambridge University Womens Boat Club ? .This Very Rare decorated oar honours the achievements of Iris Winiferd Preston in 1940,41and 42 .Secretary of Newnham College Boat Club and founding secretary of Cambridge University Womens Boat Club 1941/42.
This oar honours the first ever "Varsity Boat Race "by Cambridge University Womens Boat Club against Oxford University Womens Boat Club and also the First win For Cambridge against Oxford (1942).
Along with this full size oar comes a Book Written by Iris Winifred Preston ?From Newnham College Boat club to C.U.W.B.C? containing many details and facts on womens Rowing from the early 20th Century .The decorated blade is also illustrated in the book (Plate X1). As is Iris and fellow crew members
