Late Medieval Gold illuminated leaf from a manuscript prayer book, the Book of Hours. 16 lines of text on both sides, written in Latin with dark brown ink, in a clear Gothic script on animal vellum. Versal initials are in red. A total of three large two line gold initial on blue and red ground with white tracery, and a number of one line gold initials on blue and red ground with white tracery. (Both sides showing). The bible was owned by the Beauvais family.
