Description / Expertise
Magna Graecia, Apulia, Red Figure Ware Pelike, decorated with a draped female wearing sakkos holding mirror in right hand, tympanum in left chasing a naked male wearing fillet with chlamys draped over left arm, grapes in outstretched right hand; with four piece rosette and laurel branch in the field, rosette and ovolo motif encircling underside of rim, meander pattern along the baseline, the reverse shows two heavily draped youthful athletes stg., one holding a staff, palmette complex flanking both sides.
