Description / Expertise
A really wonderful and rare settle, largely in elm, with beautiful original soft blue paint over a red under-paint, to the front and rear, with gently curved back, shallow hood and seat, distinctive "wing" ends and shaped armrests, with four drawers (replaced) beneath the figured elm seat.
Inventory stamp (T PENNY) on one armrest.
Probably from the West Country (Devon or Somerset).
