Description / Expertise
ROBERT TRUSCOTT BA (born 1971)
‘Phyrgia' from the Ballet Spartacus ’
Bronze, signed - No4, edition of 15 - 47x58cms
Robert Truscott graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1995. He continued his studies in the Repin Academy of Arts, Russia. Now, his time is divided between life there & exhibitions in galleries throughout the UK. It is in St. Petersburg that much of his work is conceived, and cast.
Since graduating from Winchester Robert has concentrated on developing his Realist Style involving close observation and study of the Model. He has worked alongside renowned Russian Professors of Sculpture and inheritors of their native “Monument Tradition”. Close co-operation with casting foundries ensures that technical issues can be overcome and that fidelity to the original conception is retained.
He makes all his moulds and always finishes the casts himself: from wax stage to patination and final mounting.
