Description / Expertise
Royal Welsh Agricultural Society silver prize medal in original box. Obverse: stamped image of a winged dragon passant with tongue out and curled tail. Stamped on the surround, on a matted ground: . ROYAL . WELSH . AGRICULTURAL . SOCIETY . At centre base are stamped the Prince of Wales' feathers and crown. Reverse: within a stamped garland of leeks and wheat in engraved E.C. POINTON/ ALL BRITISH/ WHEATMEAL LOAF/ 1932.The hallmarks are stamped at the base, beneath the garland and are very faint.

Only the richer Agricultural Societies could afford to send their prize medals to be hallmarked. The dragon in the centre of the obverse makes this a very attractive medal which has been well preserved by its box.
