A fabulous portrait of the Hon. Anne Annesley, later Countess of Mountnorris (1774-1835) wearing a light yellow fur trimmed coat, white dress and turban
Set in the original gold frame with engraved reverse
Anne, the 8th daughter of William, 2nd Viscount Courtenay, married George Annesley, later 2nd Earl of Mountnorris, in September 1790. Her brother
William, was an important patron of Richard Cosway. Between 1790 and 1812 the 3rd Viscount commissioned from the artist numerous oil paintings and miniatures of himself and his sisters, the account for which totalled £1,370.
