AN EXCEPTIONAL MAHOGANY EXTENDING DINING TABLE BY GILLOWS OF LANCASTER.

Circa 1825.
The well figured mahogany top of fantastic colour and with a moulded edge. The table comprising of two ends and seven original leaves when fully extended. Each end raised on six turned and reeded tapering legs, one at each corner and four inset, terminating in the original brass cap castors, stamped ‘Copes Patent’.
Having a telescopic bearer mechanism constructed from fine quality mahogany, a feature indicative of outstanding quality, one end stamped
‘Gillows of Lancaster’ to the end of one extending bearer.
The whole with particularly fine surface.
Measurements: 18’ (548 cm) long; 5’6” (167.5 cm) wide; 29” (73.5 cm) high.
