Description / Expertise
The Nutmeg Grater is finely decorated, on the cover, with an outer border of foliate motifs on a scratch engraved ground. The centre displays a vacant shield shaped cartouche with ribbons above and crossed branches below. The sides are engraved with prick dot bands and the hinged base with beautiful bands of prick dot designs and a central flower head motif. This example is very well marked and is in excellent condition.
