Description / Expertise
Of small proportions, rectangular in form with cut corners. The cover is finely engraved with detailed scale work and the rectangular cartouche contains a running Fox. The curved base is decorated with an outer band of scratch engraving and a pretty central flower head. This example is finely gilded and displays a plainly pierced grille. Made in Birmingham in 1811 by R. Mitchell and Company.
