Description / Expertise
The cover displaying a shaped cast and applied border decorated with foliate motifs, scrolls and shells around an engine turned panel. The centre of the cover has a rectangular cartouche engraved with “Elizabeth”. The sides and base are engraved with engine turning and the marked interior grille is pierced with pluming scrolls. Made in Birmingham in 1830 by John Bettridge.
