Unusual Six Dynasties Equestrian Archer, 220-581 A.D; uniquely modeled archer seated atop horse, wears black hooded suit of armour with applied details and black boots, bow case attached at waist, an additional instrument to side right. Both arms crooked at the elbow and in position to take hold of reins, prominent animated features, eyes, beard and moustache convey stern expression. Horses' body with pigmentation remaining, small head with prominent wide eye, flared nostril and open mouth, bears moulded saddle and saddle blanket, applied trappings.
A wonderful example of a rare type.
