Condition:
Original with a few very old repairs. The bureau has been in constant use since new had has all the minor knocks, bruises & ink stains associated with 250years of use.
Description / Expertise
A good, unrestored early Georgian bureau-bookcase. In Oak, stringing & crossbanded with original brassware. Lower section: raised on bracket feet below four good size drawers. The upper writing slope opening to a full fitted bureau interior with drawers, secret drawers etc etc. The upper section: two blind doors with original lock & key, opening to an inner bookcase with three fully adjustable shelves. The above pediment with dentil moulding. The old deep patination & finish is supurb.
