Hellenistic draped male in marble, captured in relaxed contrapposto, whereby weight rests on bent right leg, left side of body is lifted off-axis from the hips; wears tunic draped across left side of chest and shoulder exposing the right, luxurious deeply incised folds hang from the waist down and fall across the body in a highly realistic state, a sense of transparency allowing us glimpse of the legs beneath the skirts.
A superb piece of late Greek in-the-round sculpture.
